My Background
Kim is an intern trauma therapist at the Men’s Trauma Centre, and has a private counselling practice in Duncan. A member of the Canadian Psychological Association, Kim has an MA in Conflict Analysis and Management, as well as extensive Master’s level education in Counselling Psychology. Kim grew up on Vancouver Island, and prior to opening her private practice, worked in her own businesses and as a conflict management consultant for over 25 years.
My Approach
Kim has additional training in mindfulness-based cognitive-behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing and dialectical behaviour therapy. Kim practices from a trauma-informed foundation of mindfulness, with a flexible, client-centred approach. Kim has been a guest lecturer for Vancouver Island University’s positive psychology program and teaches mindfulness in group and individual sessions. In her free time, Kim enjoys coastal rowing, running, her dogs, and scuba diving.
