My Background:

Dillon is a member in good standing with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association as a Certified Canadian Counsellor. As well as a professional member of the Canadian Art Therapy Association.
My Approach to Counselling:
Dillon incorporates an integrative approach to counselling by incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solutions-Focused & Art Therapy with an attachment, and strengths-based lens. By utilizing these different modes of therapy, Dillon aims to provide safety, connection, and empowerment for his clients. Dillon places his clients as the experts in their own lives and supports them by bringing awareness of the connections between the perception of themselves, their relationships with others, and how society impacts their well-being.
Dillon’s definition of Art Therapy:
“Art therapy integrates psychology and the creative process of art-making to provide an alternative approach to addressing, processing, and mending social, emotional and psychological difficulties.
Art therapy utilizes the power of visual expression to externalize distressing thoughts, feelings, painful memories, and experiences to aid in closure, increase self-awareness and promote verbal expression. Anyone can benefit from art therapy; no matter the age, ability or artistic experience.”
