My Background:
Jeremy has worked as a clinical counsellour in Victoria since 2017 after graduating from the University of Victoria with a Masters in Counselling Psychology. Originally from Toronto, he has been living in British Columbia since 2006 and now calls Victoria home. He is a member in good standing with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). Jeremy is also registered with the BC Crime Victim Assistance Program to provide clinical counselling to victims of crime. In his spare time, Jeremy can be found enjoying the outdoors with his dog Cali.
My Approach:
Jeremy believes wholeheartedly that trauma is a wound and that wounds can heal. He uses Somatic Experiencing and an emotion-focused/Gestalt approach, while also incorporating Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) tools where they can help.
How Can Jeremy Help You?
His are of focus is in helping clients to gain control over their difficult thoughts and emotions, such as fear and sadness, that often arise due to trauma. He has worked successfully with individuals who have experienced childhood violence, childhood sexual abuse, neglect, intimate partner violence, complex grief, and the effects of extreme sadness.
